Anna Skoromnaya’s artistic practice is distinguished by constant research and in-depth experimentation in the field of new media, both technologically and materially. Her passion for innovative expressive tools and her desire to explore languages with a strong identity, dynamism, and multisensoriality have led her to develop specific techniques and means for each series of works.

The first multimedia series, “SOS CODE,” presented in 2014 after years of research on LED light, introduces a groundbreaking approach defined by the artist as a “dynamic light box.” In this technique, images transform and move through an optical illusion created by the shifting of integrated LED light. The sound component not only complements the visual aspect but also enables a multisensory perception of the explored theme.

In 2017, with the series “KINDERGARTEN,” the artist expanded her experimentation with holographic techniques (“Popcorn Machine”) and the incorporation of monitors within installations (“Cream Hand Mixer”). These technological elements are combined with materials such as Cor-Ten steel, painted iron, and plexiglass, subjected to innovative processes of material contamination.

In her latest series, “PARADOXY” (2024), Skoromnaya developed a unique technique of “controlled corrosion,” a complex process of oxidation and salt growth, named OxiFLOWERing®. This technique, the result of elaborate research into chemical and material phenomena, has been registered by the artist as a European trademark, solidifying her pioneering approach to contemporary sculpture.
